Why a phone calculator isn't enough
A customer puts a bag of chains and coins on the counter. The calculator on your phone doesn't know spot, karat or your payout. The Gold Calculator uses live spot prices and does the math per line and for the whole bag.
A gold buying calculator built around your payout
- Live spot for gold, silver and platinum.
- Scrap by karat or fineness in grams, pennyweight or troy ounces.
- Coins and bullion by count, with the metal content built in.
- Your payout and your profit on every line, with a side-by-side of your preset payouts.
Melt value, the quick way
Melt value is the weight in troy ounces times purity times spot. 14k is 14/24, about 58.3% gold; 18k is 75%. One troy ounce is 31.1035 grams, and one pennyweight (dwt) is 1.5552 grams, or one twentieth of a troy ounce. The calculator handles the conversions, so you can weigh in whatever unit your scale shows.
Pennyweight gold calculator for the trade
Many dealers and refiners quote per pennyweight. Enter dwt directly and compare your offer with melt value line by line, then show the customer a clean total.
